Abracadiet: My Diet Causes Cancer?

It is a common belief that what you eat could not possibly cause cancer.
It had to be something in your family gene line, or too much exposure to the sun, or harmful radiation. However, there has been a strong connection found between what we eat that can be both cause and cure when it comes to cancer.
Those that consume most certain vegetables and fruits have been found to have a lower risk of getting cancer.
An article from the Mayo Clinic advised that an individual should try some meatless options and concentrate on increasing dietary fiber intake to lower risks.
Years ago, before starting a plant-based diet, I was diagnosed with PCOS and had damaged fallopian tubes. I wanted to have a second child and was told there was a 2% chance and to investigate alternative options. I started a plant-based diet and became pregnant a year later.
There were no longer any signs of PCOS or damage to my fallopian tubes either. I had also been pre-diabetic at that time, and no trace of an issue any longer. My doctor just told me to continue this plant-based diet since it was working.
With the pregnancy cravings, I could not sustain this diet plan.

Presently, I eat more fish and chicken, with red meat maybe 3 times a month. From my own personal experience, nutrition has been shown to be a major factor in reversing damage and illness.
Red meats and how they are cooked seem to be the main issue of potential cancer-causing effects.
However, plants have components that promote healthy cell growth and act as a protectant from damage.
It is encouraged to find a healthy balance in your meals.
MyPlate.gov is a wonderful source to get started on correct portions from all food groups. They also have great options and recipes if you choose to no longer eat meat.
Again, if you are diagnosed with cancer or other serious terminal illness, make sure you get a more personalized nutritional guideline to follow from a Registered Dietitian.
Every person is different and should be handled as such.
